Wait...What About Thanksgiving?!

Now, I know it sounds cliche', but where did Thanksgiving go?! It seems this year they had the Christmas decorations out in the stores weeks before Halloween. Soon enough we'll be starting in June!

Enough ranting. As you can see from the pictures below, we partook in the pre-Holiday insanity. Of course, it took place in the mall. Good thing it was a week before the true shopping madness ensues. Nonetheless, things are well with the Iowagners. No one is ill and the weather has been surprisingly mild. On to the SuperKids!

A week late, but worth the wait...

Finally some pictures of the kids in their costumes. It took forever to narrow down the choices of what they wanted to dress up as. Monkey started with the idea to be a mermaid and Bear followed suit with Mermaid Man from SpongeBob. In the end, Monkey wanted to be a "Snow Fairy" and Bear was a Pirate. A trip to the Dollar Store (only $4 spent) and a little creativity; the costumes were ready.

Monkey before school, I knew she'd be hard on the costume so we took pictures of her first thing in the morning.

My sweet Snow Fairy ready to usher in winter.

The aftermath...I made the skirt out of batting covered in glitter. I knew it wouldn't last forever, but I had hopes that she'd be able to trick-or-treat in it at least.

Trick-Or-Treat!!!! All ready to go on a drizzly and cold Beggar's Night.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Illness Infects the IOWAGNERS!

Yes...you read that correctly. Your favorite SuperFamily has been incapacitated by a microscopic villain. That dastardly villain, the H1N1 flu virus. Do not fear though, we are now on the tail end of fighting off this nasty bug. To do this we have summoned up our powerful immunities and quarantined Iowagner HQ. SuperMom is suffering from an extreme case of cabin fever, and Winter isn't even here yet.

On the subject of Winter, two weeks ago we received a reminder that it is just around the corner. Our first snow fall and dropping temps have made us realize the inevitable. Time to bundle up!

Not much has occured lately other than illnesses and preparations for the coming snowy season. Hopefully the snow can hold off until after Halloween. The SuperKids need to replenish their candy supply!

BRRRRRRRRRR!!!

Inconsideration Invades Iowa!

Greetings inquisitive mind. I imagine you have found and are now reading this posting with a purpose. That purpose being to discover what heinous deed deserves such a headline. Continue reading and you may soon find out. I must warn you, the images and stories you are about to partake in might be disturbing to some...proceed with caution!

The Fearless Family Feeding Our Fine-Feathered Friends

One of our big goals has been to get as much outdoor work (i.e.- beautification) done to Iowagner HQ before Old Man Winter pays a visit. The following pictures show some of progress. My muscles are still sore!

Halfway finished washing & staining the deck. SuperMom looking super stylish

Now you see the ugly, unsightly walnut tree...

Now you don't! Hooray!!!

Monkey: my happy future gearhead, at least until I told her we couldn't buy it for her! :(

Now for the shocking conclusion as to why I would ever utter the words 'inconsideration' and 'Iowa' in the same breath. The following shocking event occured whilst SuperMom was parked at a local institution of higher learning. Subsequently, it also where she moonlights now and then. When she came out of work on Friday this ghastly sight was waiting for her. Her high-speed attack vehicle, Lil' Ninja, had been damaged. The evildoer did not even have the decency to leave an apology or other information. Fear not though, justice will prevail in the end. The perpetrator will most likely suffer catastrophic engine failure at a very inopportune time. SuperDad was able to muster up some of his super strength and push most of the dent out.

Evil Never Rests!

Well, goodnight SuperFans. Please, leave us a comment and let us know how you are furthering the cause against evil. Feel free to share any of your stories great or small.

-Keep fighting the good fight!

Two Months Later...

Once again, our sincerest apologies for leaving you in suspense as to the fate of the Iowagners. We know of the concern that had gripped your hearts wondering if we were in grave peril. Fear not, the day-to-day events of life overwhelmed us and kept us from completing an entry.

Stay tuned and SuperDad will attempt to fill you in on where we have been, what we are doing and where we soon may be. I can already feel the excitement!

Yes, my SuperFriends, we have returned to blogdom. Let the saga continue!!!

To show our honor for American independence from the British, SuperDad resurrected an old piece of British iron (1979 Triumph Bonneville, to be exact) over the 4th of July weekend. It was a success.

SuperMom had a Birthday. One guess how old she is!

We went to a balloon festival in Indianola and I caught the following picture of Bear using a newly found secret power: super-laser sun vision. The aftermath is quite dramatic!

BALLOONS!!!

One major thing that has kept us from blogging, other than crimefighting, has been the immense amount of work we have been doing around the yard. The following pictures show you what can be accomplished with two tons of rock and alot of time.

Back yard tree island

Our last blast before SuperDad goes back to work was to attend the infamous Iowa State Fair. With it being the largest state fair in the nation, combined with cool temperatures, we decided to attend. We ate our 'fair' share of overpriced food. Plus, you can get almost anything you want to eat on a stick. See the following pictures for evidence.

Well, SuperFriends, there is a small insight into the past two months of the Iowagners. We will try our best not to keep you in suspense for such a long period of time. Remember to stay out of trouble and always do what your mother says.

Iowagners out.

Secret Mission Complete!!!

Yes, SuperFans, we did it. After 4,387 miles and nearly 3 1/2 weeks later we can say we have successfully completed our mission. Now it is time for you debriefing. Proceed only if you are able.

Our mission took us through the awe inspiring Rocky Mountains beginning in Denver, Colorado. We then experienced the beautiful red rock around Moab, Utah on our way to the eternal desert of southern Arizona. We enjoyed the hospitality and fun of SuperMom's family in Tucson. Monkey enjoyed saying, 'look, a cactus!' every few seconds.

After nearly a week in the 'dry heat' of Arizona we headed northward to the land known as Utah. SuperDad got his fix talking cars with Uncle Junior and going out on the 'desert' to find cool rocks. We then ventured even further north to visit the rest of the family in Happy Valley and Valley of the Salt Lake. The SuperKids were once again overloaded by meeting a large number of grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Some for the very first time.

NOTE: For all the family and especially friends that are reading this blog and saying. "Why didn't you visit me/us?!" we apologize. Our time and energy was limited. Plus, were alot of you to visit!

After about three weeks the SuperKids began to grow homesick for Iowagners HQ. We endured the drive homeward through the less than exciting portions of Wyoming and Nebraska before entering the beautiful, rolling farmlands of Iowa. As much as we enjoyed visiting with all of our family (and a few friends), Dorothy Gale said it the best, "there's no place like home!".

Now for the pictures, in no particular order:
